Howdy!
I'm Diane - wife, mom, facebook stalker - who loves sushi, the great state of Texas, and a good ol' Dr Pepper. I've always been "that girl" who always had my camera, and never put it down.
So, after much encouragement and peer pressure (not really) from friends, family, and random people I don't know... here I am! Your new family photographer :}

I've always loved photography. I've come to realize this even more while photographing my daughters milestones since she was born. (Side Note: On the overwhelming ride to the hospital to have our daughter, I could think of two things. #1 Where is the closest McDonalds for a biscuit, and #2 I hope the rooms have good lighting for great photos! Who does that?!)
But anyways, I digress. I love photography. Not the "pose-turn your head-look over there-okay turn your head more" kind of photography, but capturing the natural details and emotion of our lives that most of us tend to forget over time.
Okay now, that's where you come in!
Session Tips
I just want to share a few helpful hints to keep your session as smooth, fun, and comfortable as possible :}
Newborns: Schedule the session as early as possible so we are able to stay flexible (and so we can go shopping for the perfect accessories!). When your book your session, I will note on my calendar your "due date", and once baby has graced us with his/her arrival, we will plan the session within the first 1-2 weeks of coming home from the hospital. It is important to stay in this time frame so we have a sleepy, bendable and happy baby! The newborn shots you're picturing are nearly impossible as they get older. All newborn sessions should be scheduled during the week due to the about of time devoted. We are on baby time, so don't worry if we need to stop to feed him/her throughout the session. If fact, if that's what helps baby sleep, then that's what we will do! Please bring anything that helps soothe your baby, we want to keep everyone happy. I will do my job of keeping him/her warm and cozy with a heater. Natural lighting is one of the most important details of the session, so we want to make sure we have great access to a large window. OH! And don't forget any special "somethings" you want included, like cute hats/bows/booties/blankets.
Portraits (child): Bright colors tend to be the most fun, so don't hesitate to get creative! Accessories really help "make" an image perfect. Feel free to bring anything fun and goofy. I love fun hats, headbands, cute jackets and scarfs, ties. This adds personality and a unique twist to your image. It doesn't have to be a permanent piece, but something fun to throw into a few shots. Bring whatever makes your child unique. If your son is always running around the house in a superman cape, bring the superman cape (and mask!). If your daughter can't leave home without her stuffed monkey, let "monkey" come along! My goal is for you to have fun, so the goofier, the better. Bubbles, rattles, Don't forget snacks, in case we (I mean, your child) gets hungry!
* If your child seems to be in a bad mood/overtired/cranky/not having it, and you want to simply take the photos we've gotten and end the session, I will adjust the price to a mini-session as long as it has not been longer than 20 minutes. Just keep in mind, the amount of photos you receive will likely be lower than a full hour session.
Portraits (teen/adult): Just be you. I want you to relax and feel natural. If I have to sing a stupid song off pitch to make you feel LESS stupid then me, then so be it! Feel free to bring anything fun and goofy. I love fun hats, headbands, cute jackets and scarfs, ties. This adds personality and a unique twist to your image. It doesn't have to be a permanent piece, but something fun to throw into a few shots. Lets talk about locations to make sure your interests are incorporated wherever we go.
Families: Just relax and have fun. We aren't going for the perfect posed picture in every image. I want to capture your family as you REALLY are - fun, loving, crazy - all of it! Try not to dress exactly the same (unless of course, you really want to!) I love when groups coordinate without being exactly the same. If you need help with this, I'm all yours! I KNOW you can get more creative than white/khaki ;)
Maternity: Book as early as possible, but plan on shooting around 32-36 weeks. We want your belly nice and round, but also want you to be comfortable! As your belly starts to grow, decide on when you'd like to be photographed. If that happens to be earlier than others, then great. If you want to grow some more, sounds good to me! Just keep me posted along the way, and keep in mind all the crazy things that can happen as your due date approaches. Wear something you are comfortable in. Several outfits are encouraged. I don't recommend anything tight or full/half band pants to the shoot. They can leave lines on your cute belly :) Wearing comfy yoga pants or something similar means less adjusting later for those bare belly shots. I want you to feel like the most beautiful momma-to-be EVER!
